The Metro 3 is Ergobaby’s all-in-one compact stroller, designed to deliver big comfort in a small, travel-ready package. It balances everyday convenience with premium comfort easily folding to fit tight spaces while keeping parents and little ones supported on the go.
BRIEF: Ground-up redesign of the 3rd generation Metro stroller on a new chassis. An opportunity to evolve our design language, reinforce brand identity, and elevate aesthetics and functionality beyond market standards while retaining our core competitive features: lightweight, leading comfort and compact.
ROLE: Lead Designer
RESPONSIBILITIES: Led all aspects of industrial design, both in-house and with external partners. Drove concept development, prototyping, and refinement through to mass production. Owned color and CMF strategy to ensure cohesive, elevated product execution.

Development was a massive component of this project. We were the first ones to apply this knit technology to a baby carrier which meant we had nothing to reference other than sneakers which are a much simpler product. We had to spend a lot of time with our factory partners learning as much as we could about the knitting process and how to apply it to our design. What we had to learn included: engineering, different yarn properties, color application, integrating 3D shape and textures, finishing processes etc. We then went through a long process of consumer fittings and color development until we achieved our final Aerloom design.
